We are so excited Holly Ann was the first guest artist at the opening of the Circle of Art Atchison. She is absolutely one of our favorite artists.

Holly grew up in Nebraska where she received both Bachelors and Masters degrees in Art Education. She has lived in the Kansas City area since 1982 and was an art director at Hallmark Cards for twelve years. She has taught art in numerous settings, including both public and private elementary and high schools, the University of Nebraska-Kearney, and the Kansas City Art Institute.

Holly’s artwork consists primarily of acrylic paintings and pastels, although she is comfortable with many different media. Her favorite style is a form of pointillism. She counts Seurat and Van Gogh as major influences.

Holly’s subject matter comes primarily from personal reference photos, but color is always a central focus in her work. The world surrounds us with an amazing array of colors, shapes, and relationships. Holly enjoys incorporating those elements in her artwork in order to share her wonder with the viewer.
